This is our first update on here of 2019 and so we wanted to share with you a few things that are going on with our family and ministry here with FCA in Eastern Central KY.
2019 has started off with some really good things happening and a few rough things. First the good, we are moving forward with my (Andy) promotion to being an Area Director for FCA. We are currently putting together an area advisory board of local Christian men and women to help us with advice for our ministry, help with various outreaches and FCA ministries, and with raising funds to do ministries like camp, conferences, Bibles, and other materials. Once all these things are in place we hope to be able to go deeper with our current campuses and develop new campuses by recruiting new staff to join us in this area. Please pray with us over the next few months as there is much to be done, from trainings, recruitment of board members, fundraising, and much more. While this seems a little overwhelming, we are so excited to see how God is going to work.
As I said above there has been a rough start to 2019 as well. In the first month of this year we have found out that 2 of our supporting churches are having end their partnership with our family. This means that we are starting the year with approximately $400 less a month in our monthly support. Please pray with us that we will be able to make up for this big loss in support soon. We know that God has a plan and has always met our needs and always will. Pray with us for patience and diligence on our part as we seek to make new contacts for financial partnership. Also, if you know of anyone, any church, or business that you think might be interested in partnering with our ministry with FCA please let us know. We would love the opportunity to share with more people about how they can get involved whether financially, with their time, and also with their prayers.
Lastly, as you know a big part of our ministry with FCA is traveling. I (Andy) am on the road for about 1,000-2,000 miles. These miles are spent visiting 6 counties of schools and we have the potential to get into even more. We also use our vehicles for taking students to church, camps, and conferences. As you can imagine this leads to a lot of wear and tear on our vehicles. Erin and I now find ourselves in a time where our cars are in need of some repair and also tire replacement. We are praying for God’s provision of $2,000 or more to cover all repairs and replace our well worn tires. We would greatly appreciate your prayers for this as well.
In the next week we will be sending out a full ministry update that will give you more information on all our ministry activities and how God is really doing some great things right now. We are so blessed to be able to serve here and know God is going to do more than we can possibly imagine. Thank you for your faithful prayers and please join us in prayer for these three specific things launching our new area, support needs, and the need of vehicle repairs. Thank you!
Each year we send out an end of the year newsletter via snail mail. This way we are able to bring everyone praying, supporting, and involved in our ministry up to date with what’s going on. Especially those who may not get our monthly email newsletters. This is the end of the letter year we sent out last week. If you didn’t receive one, we are very sorry. Several people who get our email newsletters we didn’t send this one, because we didn’t want to overwhelm you and you will be getting an email newsletter in December. Thank you again to all who have been praying, supporting, and been there for our family in any way this year!
Last week we asked you to be praying for Maeven and Judah as they went back to school this week. Well, yesterday was their first day of classes and both survived! Judah was quiet and nervous as he went to his first day, but did great. Of course his two favorite things were lunch and recess. Maeven started her homeschool classes and did excellent. It’s big adjustment for her as a social butterfly to be home just with Mom, but so far so good. She is really excited for next week when she goes to her homeschool co-op and is able to hang out with other kids. Thank you so much for your prayers and please keep praying with us that our kids have an excellent school year, do great with their studies, make lots of friends, and also that they will grow in their relationships with and be bold for Christ!
