Here is our final prayer letter from our time with KMM. Many of you should be getting a hard copy in the mail any day now. On the second page is detailed information about how you can join our support “Home Team” with FCA. We are currently at about 60% of our goal, and would love to have you join us! Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. Thanks so much for your faithful support and prayers!
2016 is here and we made it! As usual the new year got off to a busy start for our family as the Lee County Recreational Center held it’s annual New Year’s Eve Teen Lock-In. Over 109 teens and adult chaperones attended this outreach and helped us ring in the new year. Normally, I (Andy) would sort of facilitate and help make sure the night runs smoothly and find a speaker to share the Gospel with the students. For this Lock-In, I realized that I hadn’t scheduled a speaker and so I ended up speaking. I was blessed to have the opportunity to share with the students about how God’s will for their lives is good, pleasing, and perfect and that they shouldn’t conform the labels that the World places on them. I’m not one to throw out casually that I feel the Spirit moving, but that night as I gave the devotion I did have a peace from God that I was sharing just what He wanted met to share and that He was working in the hearts of our students. Please join us in praying that we will see students make decisions for Christ as a result of the Lock-In outreach.
Maeven and Judah have had a great start to the New Year as they went to their Mimi and Pop’s for New Year’s. They were also able to take one of their Christmas gifts and go to Build-A-Bear and each get a new buddy. We even had break through’s in Sunday School this week as both of our kids were able to tell us their lesson, Judah actually colored, and Maeven wrote her name on here Sunday School paper all by herself! After a two week break, both of our kiddos are excited to go back to Pre-School this week to see their teachers and friends.
Today we are starting the second semester of our After School Jr. Bowling Outreach. Join us in praying for this awesome outreach. Pray that students will remember after being off for a couple of weeks and come back to day. Most of all pray, that they will be receptive to the Word and open to talking with our staff about Jesus!
2016 looks to be a busy year with lots of opportunities and changes. Please keep our family in your prayers and thank you so much for your faithfulness!
Next week we will be having our New Year’s Even Teen Lock-In outreach at the Lee County Recreational Center. Please begin praying with us for this event. Pray for the students who will be attending that they will be receptive to the Gospel and that our staff will have many opportunities to share with them throughout the night. Also pray for our staff that we will have wisdom as we talk and interact with the students. Lastly please pray that we will have enough help. We need many volunteer chaperones to come out and make this a safe and fun outreach. Also, please consider joining us as a volunteer! Thank you so much and please please pray!
Happy New Year!!! It’s official we have survived another New Year’s Teen Lock-In at the Lee County Recreational Center. Over 110 teens joined us to ring in the new year! Most importantly over 110 students hear a very clear Gospel message from our pastor, Terry Leap. Pastor Leap shared with our students from the book of Ecclesiastes about how Solomon had sought for the meaning of life in so many things, but ultimately only found contentment in God. It was great to hear Christ so clearly shared and our students really engaged in the message. Below is the youtube clip of our devotion.
Throughout the night, our staff had a great chance to get to know the students and build relationships with them. One student even won a free week to attend Youth Haven Bible Camp this upcoming summer!
Our family is doing well and starting to feel better in the New Year after the kids have had a few go arounds with various viruses. Erin and the kids had a quick trip to Pennsylvania to visit with Erin’s brother’s family. Maeven especially loves time to play with her cousins.
The next few weeks are going to be busy with various bowling league activities and working with our high school bowling team. Please pray for opportunities to share the love of Christ with these bowlers and also safety as we travel with the bowling team.
– Great turnout for our NYE Teen Lock-In Outreach
– A safe trip to Pennsylvania and good visit with family
– We completed two years of serving as the teen Sunday school class teachers at our church and were blessed to get to know these students.
– for opportunities to share Christ with our bowlers
– We will be helping to start a Sunday school class for college and career age young adults at our church
– opportunities to share about the ministry of KMM and raise support in the upcoming year.
We hope this update finds you having a had a great Christmas and getting ready for a great New Year! Our family has had a great time of getting together with other family members and celebrating the birth of Christ. It was really exciting for us to be able to be at the point with Maeven where she is starting to understand Christmas and get excited about everything. Judah is still just happy to run around and play with new things.
This week we come back from a few days off for Christmas to one of the biggest outreach events that we hold at the Rec Center, our annual New Year’s Eve Teen Lock-In. We are expecting over 150 teenagers to come out and join us for a fun night of games, prizes, bowling, karaoke, cosmic bowling, and much more. Please be in prayer for KMM missionary Scott Brandenburg who will be sharing the Gospel with our teens about halfway through the night. Pray that God will begin to work in the student’s hearts even now and that many will decide to give their life to Christ! Pray for all our staff that we will be able to build relationships with our students throughout the night! And lastly please pray that we will have plenty have plenty of volunteers and chaperones to help with the lock-in.
Also, this week we begin our annual Biggest Loser Contest. This contest is designed to help bring in our community to help get them healthier and taking better care of themselves physically. Not only that, but it gives our staff the chance to interact with participants and share Jesus with them. Please pray for many opportunities to build relationships and share Jesus.
As we head into the New Year a lot is going on and God is going to do some great things. Please keep praying!
