Just wanted to give a quick update on where we are on our support raising for our ministry with FCA. Currently Erin and I are at almost 83% of our needed monthly support commitment. This means we need to raise about $1,400 more a month in committed support. Over this summer we have had many meetings with individuals, churches and organizations. Please keep praying with us that the seeds planted and the passion presented in these meetings will lead to partnerships. Reaching full support really would take a lot of worry off of us and allow us to fully focus on reaching coaches and athletes for Christ. Please pray with us that our support would come in. Pray about if there is anyone or any church that you might be able to tell about partnering with us and FCA. And lastly, if you are not already doing so please pray about if God would have you join our “Home Team” as a committed monthly financial partner. Feel free to contact Erin or I if you have any questions and also there is a link on the right side of this page that will take you to where you can set up online giving. Thank you so much for praying with us!
Erin and I would like to ask you to be praying for us as we have some decisions to make about our Van. Almost 6 years ago God blessed us with a Nissan Quest mini-van that has been a huge blessing and tool for us to use for our family and ministry. We started having some problems with the van a couple of months ago and found out this week that it needs a Bank 1 Cad. Converter replaced. This part and labor cost over $1,000 to get fixed. With our van having almost 128,000 miles on it we are praying about what the smartest decision would be. Should we pay the money and get the van fixed and hope that it will last us till at least 200,000 miles? Or should we look to see if we can trade even for something with less mileage even if it is a smaller vehicle? Another car payment is not in the budget right now so we can’t really trade up. Please pray with us that God will make it clear what we should do, and then that all the finances to repair or replace will be provided. Thanks as always for your prayers!
Greetings from Richmond, KY and sorry for the delay in keeping you updated on everything that is going on ministry wise and also with our family and Erin’s health.
We had a little bit of a scare with Erin this past week. As we have shared with you we were blessed to get Erin into a grant program that is supposed to cover all her medical bills dealing with cancer. The program was supposed to expire at the end of January and we knew that we had to apply for an extension. When Erin called to begin working on the extension we found out there had been an office glitch kicking her out of the program and that none of her medical bills thus far had been covered! Panic definitely set in and our anxiety level was through the roof. Erin and I both began praying that things could be worked out, and she began making calls to all the agencies involved in her getting kicked out of the program and getting back into it. Thankfully this morning she got a call that all has been resolved, all her previous bills taken care of, and any new bills covered through March! In March she can apply for another three months of coverage which will last through the completion of her reconstruction. Once again, we are so thankful for the way God answers prayers and has continued to bless us during Erin’s battle with breast cancer!
Ministry wise we are getting back in to things as most of our school’s are kicking off their second semester. I have been visiting several of our school’s morning huddles and trying to encourage both the students and huddle sponsor’s. I have been to almost all of the schools that we will cover who have active FCA huddles going. My next big step is to start contacting and visiting the many schools in our area who do not currently have active huddles and see what we can do to get them up and going. We are hoping to see God do great things in these schools over the coming months and ask that you keep us in your prayers.
This weekend we are getting ready for the annual FCA Coach and Spouse Get Away. This is one of the larger FCA outreaches in Kentucky. We invite coaches and their spouses, as well as other couples associated with FCA to a two day retreat at the Embassy Suites in Lexington. There we have a great time of fellowship with praise and worship music, Biblical marriage guidance from a speaker, testimonies from other couples, and some great food. Please be in prayer for the couples that will be joining us at the Get Away. We never know what issues they maybe facing in their marriages, but we know we have a great God who can take care of any needs they have. Pray that this weekend will be the starting point for many of these couples to put Christ first in their relationship.
Also, we want to thank all of you who have been praying about our support level and especially those who have partnered with us. We are currently at about 78% of our support level. Please pray that God will provide the remaining amount we need. If you would like to partner with us just click the link on the right side of this page. Also, please let us know if there is any one or any church that you think we should contact!
Thank you so much for checking in to see how we are doing and please keep praying for our family and the ministry of FCA!
Hey there, we hope this update finds you enjoying your last week of 2016. A few weeks ago we shared with you about our financial goals for reaching full support by the end of this year. While we haven not yet reached full support God has been blessing and we are moving towards our goal steadily. Currently, we sit at 75% of our total support goal of getting full funded for personal expenses and all ministry expenses. We need to raise about $500 more a month to have all personal expenses covered and $1200 a month to cover all ministry expenses. Ministry expenses are things like travel to our schools, Bibles and study materials for coaches and athletes, and the ability to scholarship coaches and athletes to FCA camps and conferences.
So how can you help? If you are already partnering with us financially we thank you and ask you to faithfully pray for the rest of our support to come in and for opportunities to share Christ as we build our ministry with FCA. Also, many of you have been sharing on social media about our ministry and with your family and friends. We thank you and ask everyone to please considering sharing with your family and friends too!
If you are not already partnering with us, please pray about how God would lead you in partnering with us. We are looking and asking for committed financial partners who will make monthly or yearly commitments to help partner with us in ministry. The easiest way to do this is to click on the donate link on the side of this page. You will then be taken to our myFCA page where you can set up online giving. If you register as an Automatic Monthly Partner you can set up for your monthly partnership support to be taken automatically each month. Your first donation will be taken on the day you give and then on the 20th of each month afterwards. If you would rather send support through the mail, please message me for details on how to do so.
So how will you partner with us? However God leads you, we appreciate your prayers. God is faithful and even though we have a ways to go for being totally funded we know He will provide!
At the Rec Center we have been battling keeping our facility warm or cool depending on the temperature outside, due to our heating and air units being down. Last week we were blessed to have two more gas units donated to help bring down our heating costs. Also, the week before our first new big heat and air unit arrived. That being said, here comes our prayer request. In the next couple of weeks we need to raise a little over $4,000 to pay the unit off. We desperately need this unit for our heat and for our air in the very hot summer time. When it’s too hot or too cold in our facility people don’t want to stay. If there are no people it’s hard to pay the bills and even more importantly hard to share Jesus if there is no one to share with.
So how can you help??? First of all, as always please pray for us. Heat and air are greatly needed and we know God will provide the finances, so pray people will be generous. Secondly, if you are interested in helping with this need, please consider a finical donation. All donations can be sent to:
KMM, PO Box 588, Beattyville, KY 41311
Just include in the memo that your donation is for the Lee County Recreational Center heat and air units.
Lastly, one way that you can help is if you live in the area or are visiting come out to the Rec Center and join us for a meal, to work out, or to have a fun night bowling!
Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support!
On Monday night we gathered our students who are on our FCA Leadership team at our house for a time of discipleship and getting ready for this summer’s FCA Leadership Camp. It’s hard to believe but it’s almost time for camp again this year! We are excited to be taking even more students to camp this summer as we currently have 7 who will be going with us.
The camp theme this year is “Relentless” which is taken from Hebrews 10:39, “But we are not those who draw back and are destroyed, but those who have faith and obtain life.” (HCSB). This is a great theme for our students as we want them to be relentless in their desire to grow stronger in their relationship with Christ. To help get them ready for this theme and camp we are doing a discipleship program and starting with helping them write and share their testimonies. Last night we spent a lot of time with them going over their testimonies and helping them go into further detail about what Christ has done for them.
One of the big issues we face with taking these students to camp is the cost of the camp. FCA Leadership costs $225 per student to go. Even though this seems expensive the experience and training the students receive to be able to communicate their faith in Christ and be leaders at their school is priceless. In order to pay for our students to go, for my wife and I to go for training, and travel expenses we need to raise around $2,200. One of the things we are doing to raise these funds is going to local churches and letting our students share their testimonies, how leadership camp has impacted them in past years, why they want to go to camp this year, and how they want to be leaders in their school. Through sharing with the churches we hope to be able to raise funds towards camp. Tonight, April 28th we will be sharing in the 7pm service at Bear Track Bible Church, please feel free to come hear our students!
Over the next two months leading up to camp I will be keeping you posted on our fundraising progress. I would like to ask you first and foremost to pray for our students as we get ready to go to camp. Pray that they will grow in our discipleship meetings, pray that God will use camp as a catalyst to for our students to change their schools for Christ and possibly go into full time ministry themselves. Pray for the $2,000 we need to raise for camp this summer. I have no doubt God will supply it, but we covet your prayers that hearts will be burdened to give to our students. Lastly, please pray and see if God would have you help financially with taking our students to camp. Your prayers and help could have a profound impact on our students. Please please pray!
