This is our July 2019 Ministry Update that we email out to all our support/prayer team. If you would like to receive this each month via email you can sign up on the right side of this page. Also, in the newsletter this month is a video that shows what all went on at our 2019 FCA Leadership Camp. If you scroll to the bottom of the newsletter you will be able to watch it there. Also, the section about our vehicle need update can be found on the post previous to this one and as always you can join our support team by clicking on the Support Our Ministry Button to the right of this post. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support!
Thank you so much for checking in our our ministry update website. Erin and I wanted to send out a prayer request about a need that we currently have without sending out an email to our entire mailing list so soon after our last newsletter. Over the past couple of years we have shared with you prayer requests about our van and repairs we have had to do to keep it going on there road. God blessed us with a great van that we have been able to use for our family and many ministry related events. However, now our van is almost 12 years old and the transmission is going. After a trip to the mechanic, we were advised to keep our van off the interstate, under 60 mph and try to sell it while it is still running.
For the past couple of weeks, Erin and I have been praying and seeking God’s will for what we should do to about our current transportation situation. With me being on the road all the time with FCA we simply must have two vehicles for our family. Also, because my car is a small hatchback we need something bigger for trips where our whole family has to go and/or we are taking students some place.
After much prayer we have decided the best thing to do would be to try and get a vehicle for me to use for ministry. Then Erin could take my car for a year to use around Richmond and on day trips for her and the kids. In a year when my hatchback is paid off at that time we can begin looking for a family vehicle.
FCA has given us a couple of options for getting a ministry vehicle. First and best, one can be donated to FCA and designated for me to use for traveling to schools, meetings, camps, speaking engagements and all other needs. Secondly, we also have the option of raising funds through our FCA account to purchase a vehicle that would belong to FCA but be for our use, just as though the whole car was donated.
We are praying that God would provide either a vehicle that would meet our needs or finances to purchase one through our FCA Staff account. Our ideal vehicle would fit our family of 4 and maybe more if possible, have room for luggage, low miles and dependable for long trips, and front wheel drive or better head AWD since many of the schools I go to are in rural areas.
So how can you help? Please pray! Pray with us that we will trust God through this whole process and be patient as we wait on his provision. Pray that our van keeps running well enough for Erin to get around Richmond until we are able to get a 2nd vehicle. Pray with us as we look into some fundraisers and possibly meeting with some people that might be able to help us through donating a car or giving towards one. Pray that the right car, suv, truck, or whatever will be used for years of reaching students and coaches and athletes for Christ will be directed our way. If you or anyone you know would like to donate towards this need you can click the link on the right of this page and do so that way. Also, if you know anyone who has a vehicle that they would like to donate to a great non-profit ministry feel free to point them our way. More than anything though please keep praying for us. It’s a stressful time, but it’s also a time where we know we can see God do something amazing. Thank you as always for your prayers and for loving our family.
This weekend as you are praying for the week ahead, please remember to be praying for our kids as they will be starting another school year. Judah is off to Kindergarten and will be experiencing all those firsts of heading to school. We are so thankful that he was able to be put into an inclusive classroom that has less students and teachers and aids that are trained to work with autism.
Also, please be praying for Maeven as she will be heading into her first year of homeschooling. (Pray for Erin too!) This is going to be a big difference for her as 2nd grade will be at home and also in a local homeschool co-op. We really feel God has led us to do this for at least this year and that hopefully she will do even better academically, her body will continue to heal from Celiac disease and cross contamination in public school, and most importantly that it will strengthen her walk with Christ.
Thank you so much for the way you love and pray for our family!
